And the good people of Westland, Michigan wish you and your family a warm and traditional Christmas holiday.

Christmas Myths Exposed The Christmas season seems to perpetuate its share of  myths and urban legends for Christmas and the rest of the holiday season . . .

Myth: The Bible says that exactly three wise men traveled from afar on camels to visit the infant Jesus as he lay in the manger.

Myth: Two of Santa's reindeer were named 'Donner' and 'Blitzen.'

Myth: The suicide rate increases significantly during the winter holiday season.

Myth: Poinsettia plants are poisonous to humans.

Myth: The term Immaculate Conception refers to the conception of Jesus by the Virgin Mary.

Myth: 'Xmas' is a modern, disrespectful abbreviation of the word 'Christmas'.

Myth: The day after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year in America.

We drove from Maryland to Michigan last week and I feel compelled to remind everyone about the rules. 1) The left lane is the fast lane; slower moving vehicles should move to the right lane. 2) The left lane is the passing lane, not the right lane. 3) You don't apply your brakes while on the expressway; take your foot off of the accelerator, or move to another lane. 4) When merging onto the expressway, you yield to the vehicles already there. You shouldn't just cut into traffic. I said these same things last week with more emphasis and probably used the F-word more.

Visit an online cemetery For about $14, you can add a recently deceased loved one to interlog.com's World Wide Cemetery. The sites says "Monuments in the World Wide Cemetery allow people to share the lives of their loved ones in ways that traditional printed death announcements or stone inscriptions cannot. Photographs, moving images and even sounds can be included with a monument. People can create hypertext links among family members, and in doing so forge a genealogy of Internet users and their families online and in real time."

Cold Reading This is a common method employed by psychics to convince customers they really do have a supernatural power. The method involves the psychic reading the subject's body language etc, and skillfully extracting information from the subject, which can then be fed back later, convincing the subject that the psychic has told them things they couldn't possibly have known.
