Stamps
for the Cure The Breast Cancer Research stamp was first
made available for sale in U.S. post offices on 29 July 1998.
These "semi-postal" stamps sell for $8.00 per booklet (compared
to $6.60 for a pack of regular postage stamps), with each stamp
costing 40¢ each (as opposed to the regular postage rate of
34¢). The additional 6¢ over and above the cost of regular stamps
goes to breast cancer research. In their first year, breast
cancer stamps have raised $7.8 million for research. (Thanks
Cathy C.)
